I know I’ve been pushing New Year’s goals for the last couple weeks (and I also know I missed my post date for the week, my apologies), but I feel like this is the best time of year to start thinking about what this year will look like for you. Remember, you’re in charge of your own destiny in life.
And I want to provide you with everything you need to start out your New Years right. So here are two great resources to get you started…
- The Ultimate Guide to New Year’s Resolutions–This guide was created by the Web site, First30Days.com and includes everything you need (and more) to figure out what you want to do this year and how to do it. In this guide you’ll get: the 10 mistakes people make so you can avoid them and 10 innovative ways to succeed at making resolutions and keeping them, such as picking a theme for the year or finding someone to make the resolution with you.
- The Ultimate Guide for Life Procrastinators–If you’re a life procrastinator (meaning you have big ideas or big plans, but then you never take steps toward any of them), this guide might just be the “kick in the pants” you need to stop wasting time and get started living the life of your dreams. This guide was written by me as a gift for my little brother (who is one of the biggest life procrastinators I know), but I thought that a lot of people could probably benefit from it.

I’d love to give support and encouragement to any writer looking to add to writing income and expand his/her writing portfolio at Helium.com.
We have four different ways for writers to earn, with lots of publishing freedom and some high end earning clients.
Shoot me an email if you’re interested: bwhitlock@helium.com and explore the site: http://www.helium.com.
thanks for checking in with us, Barbara.
A word of caution to my Procrastinating Writers: Writing sites, such as Helium.com, might seem like “easy money,” but they actually require a lot of work for very little return.
i know there are definitely writers who use these kinds of sites and do make money. but i’ve been a member for awhile now, and even though i’ve only written 4 articles and submitted a bunch of stuff to the marketplace, i’ve only made like 50 cents.
Just something to be aware of before you start spending all of your free time trying to make a million dollars writing for a knowledge/writing web site.

Thanks for the heads up Jen.
Dear Jen,
I just read “The Ultimate Guide for Life Procrastinators” and I thought it was a really sweet present for a little brother. I could stand to give mine something like that
.
Most of the guide deals a lot with snapping out of what society tells us to do. Which most people have one heck of a time with. I’ve tried to nudge several friends to get to the place where they embody all of the five points you’ve posed, but for whatever reason, they slink back into their job or their fears or whatever it is that holds them back from anything.
The Guide is a great first step. Put some rebel thoughts in that imperial brain
. But definitely follow up on it. Throw some practical small steps his way. I know you like the Steve Pavlina, perhaps getting him to read the 30 day trial article.
New Year’s is tough. Most people who make resolutions, don’t typically plan more than a week ahead of time, and require a small step in the right direction.
Thanks again for the post and continued good luck in your search for the roots of procrastination!
Sincerely,
Bryan
thanks so much for your comments and encouragement, bryan! it’s nice to hear from people like you who are also trying to help others find meaning in their lives and go after their dreams. my little brother definitely enjoyed the article and he’s taken a couple steps toward going after what he wants in life, so that makes me really happy. I will try to do as you mentioned and write a follow-up article.
please feel free to share my Ultimate Life Procrastinator’s Guide with anyone that you think will benefit from it.
and thanks for reading Procrastinating Writers, i really appreciate it.
