Yesterday, Brian Clark of Copyblogger wrote a post called How to Turn Affiliate Marketing Disclosure Into a Selling Point.  The post discussed that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) will soon be monitoring bloggers and filing claims against any who receive money for writing reviews or talking about products without sharing that information with their readers.

In the post, Brian suggested that bloggers disclose when they make money from the products and/or services they tout.  He suggested this, not only because it’s required by law, but because people will appreciate your honesty.

I have to say that I agree with him.

My goal in taking on affiliate marketing was never to hide this fact from my readers.

But to go a step further (as I know Leo Babauta would), I’ve added a page to this blog that details my affiliate marketing efforts.

Feel free to check out the page and learn how I keep this blog going.

Thanks for reading… jennifer

Yes, transparency will only help you. Why try and be sneaky? It’ll only get you into trouble and make your readers/customers distrust you. Bravo Jennifer!

@Laura Lee Bloor Thank you! I always try to do what’s right, even if it’s not what’s popular. :-)
