My husband listens to me drone on about character and plot and re-writing. He also fends off those who would prevent me from keeping to my writing schedule – starting with me.

Fortunately, our cat doesn’t need to be walked, but I still clean the litter box. Like taking out Tofu’s trash, it helps keep the writer grounded. Thanks for the insight and the laugh.

@Alex Fayle I’m glad you have someone who supports you so strongly. I think that’s one of the most important things when it comes to writing for a living (and being in a relationship!). You need someone who supports you–whatever your dream may be.

My boyfriend is super supportive. When my part-time job ended this spring, he said “you’ll have more time to write.”

Every weekday I schedule time to go to the library and write and when I don’t he asks me why I’m not going, so not only am I writing regularly, but I’m getting supported to do so!

(Yes, I have the best boyfriend in the world)
