Write A Little Something for Dad

As I’m sure you already know, Sunday is Father’s Day.

I don’t know about you, but I never know what to get my dad. I mean, he buys himself the stuff he really wants, so what’s left?

That’s when I decided I should put my writing talent to good use and write something for my dad. And you can, too!

Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Write a poem for dad (And if your dad’s not the poetry type, write him a poem that’s comical and just for fun).
  • Write a short story that recounts an adventure you and your dad had together.
  • Write an essay that includes a few of your favorite memories with your dad.
  • Collect pictures of you and your dad, write funny captions for each picture (or write your favorite memory from the day in each picture) and frame everything.
  • Write a song. Sing it for him (if you’re brave enough).

As they say, homemade gifts are better because they come from the heart.

What are some other ways you can incorporate your writing into a Father’s Day gift?
