Write Every Day: Here’s How

Here it is Procrastinating Writers: The new way for you to write for at least 5 to 10 minutes every single day.

Introducing the Write Everyday productivity tool.

This tool started off as a dream. I don’t know anything about software engineering, and I know very little about HTML. But I had an idea for an productivity tool I wanted to offer on my blog.

In stepped George W. Adams, a fourth-year software engineeringĀ undergrad from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Although the task I placed in front of Adams was something he had never attempted before–build a writing tool that can live onĀ a Thesis-themed Wordpress blog–he was more than happy to take the challenge on.

After weeks of going back and forth and having issues with our differing versions of the programs necessary to make this productivity tool a reality, it’s finally here.

The Purpose
I wanted to give writers a way to write every single day, even if it’s only for five minutes. Write Everyday is a productivity tool that offers a writing prompt to help you jump-start your daily writing.

The tool can also be used as an “idea starter” to help jump-start your next story.

So here’s how to use it:

  • At least once a day, go to: http://www.procrastinatingwritersblog.com/write-everyday.
  • Enter in how much time you’d like to write for (it’s set for 5 minutes, but you can change the time to whatever you’d like).
  • Choose if you want the timer to end your writing session, or if you’d like to continue writing after the timer goes off.
  • Choose the text editor you want–either the basic version that just allows you to write or the advanced version that allows you to customize your text.
  • Click Write! and get to writing!

And since the topics are random, you can use Write Everyday as often as you want to.

I hope Write Everyday is a productivity tool that you will just love and use all the time.

Write. Create. Have fun.

Congratulations, Jen! How exciting! I’m so proud of you! I will be using this tool a bunch once I get a few other important items off my plate. Thank you for making it.

Also, in case you haven’t noticed yet, you probably want to fix the typo in the headline of “Everday” to “Everyday” or even better, “Every Day.” ;)

@Laura Lee Bloor Haha, yep. I need to fix the headline. But as for the tool itself, the name of it is Write Everyday (even thou that’s grammatically not correct) :-)

This is wonderful! It is just what I’ve been looking for. Thanks for sharing it. This is awesome. I just wrote in my writing blog that I need to write everyday…regardless of if I feel like it or not. I’ll write back and let you know how its going…I am one of the worst procrastinating writers.
