Wow–can you believe it’s already the day before Thanksgiving? It feels like the year just started.
But what a year it’s been!
Procrastinating Writers has grown from zero readers in November 2008 to about 5,000 page views a month. (One of my goals for 2010 is to hit 50,000 page views in a month.)
I’ve also personally grown this year. My career is transforming and writing is playing a big role in my life again. And I’ve only accomplished what I have because I started down the path I call, “Giving up procrastination.”
And I’m sure you’ve also been taking steps toward making writing a priority. Well, we at Procrastinating Writers want to hear all about it.
Announcing the first Procrastinating Writers: “How I Overcame My Procrastination This Year” essay contest.
Details coming December 1.
Here’s a sneak peek at the grand prize:
The grand prize winner will receive:
- A copy of My Story Writer software
- Larry Brooks’ eBook: Story Structure–Demystified
- Holly Lisle’s The Writing Craft: How To Motivate Yourself video course
- Dr. Grip Gel Pen
- Hardcover journal
A second and third place winner will also receive a Dr. Grip Gel Pen and a hardcover journal.
More details to come…get excited!

Ooh, I am excited! Those prizes sound awesome!
Very exciting!
Hi Jennifer,
I just happened on your blog. Congratulations on all of your accomplishments this year! I hope you hit your goals for 2010. Dream big!
I love that you’re helping others in getting over procrastination. Sharing the journey is a huge help.
Out there in the Bay Area, there’s a group on Meetup.com called “Shut Up and Write.” http://www.meetup.com/shutupandwrite/
There are over 600 members! Members get together in coffee shops all over the Bay Area. They say hi, get settled and get down to work. It seems like it kickstarts a lot of people to be surrounded by good creative energy.
Anyway. Happy Thanksgiving! Good luck with your contest. I’m sure you’ve inspired lots of great stories all by yourself. That’s pretty exciting work.
All the best,
Shea
Great prizes! Good luck to all the entrants!
Congrats on the growth of your site. It’s a great little niche on the web, and I hope it grows explosively for you in the next year!
