I'm new to your site but I love it! I have been writing since I was a child. My mother encouraged me to put ideas on paper. My first story as a child was about a golden pair of scissors that was used to cut the Pharoah's hair. When he died the scissors were buried with him. A tomb robber stole them and the curse was born. Unfortunately I have been a procrastinator MUCH longer than I have been a writer and we stick to what we know. I finally finished a novel (still needs a serious rewrite...) but now I sit here with it and procrastinate. Thank you for devoting a site to people like me who need a cattle-prod to the butt every so often.

Wow, what a blog! I found this while procrastinating (go figure! LOL) and it's given me even more inspiration. I have a finished novel and my goal for this year is to get it and a compilation of short stories up on Lulu. I do need to set aside specific hours for my writing. As a working mom, that's tough. Add a working mom who is also trying to write grants on the side for extra money and it gets harder. I'd love a specific place, but, as yet, I'm making do with the dining table or the living room table. Maybe this summer I can carve out a space.

Jen
I have been reading ProcWri since mid-2009 and am finally making the Big Push now that 2010 is upon us.
I have sidelined all my unfinished projects for the time being and am embarking upon my first 'novel-shaped' story. My timetable? To have it completed and sent away before the end of the year.
Between your advice and that of Holly Lisle, I hope to keep the whip cracking enough to see this through.
Profuse Thanks for getting me up and running (or at least power-walking!).
I'll keep you up-to-date on how it all goes.

Hello Jennifer,

I am bubbling with Joy to have stumbled upon your site tonight! What great confirmation it brings to me! I have set in Procrastination Lane for far too long, and it's time, this year, 2010, to step out of my comfort zone, fear and publish my works. I have completed two books, one Non-fiction, and one Fiction, and I am currently working to finish my third book. I so easily at times, become so discouraged that I quickly give-up, but I am so tired of the same ol' same ol' and I am ready to Come out of this defeat and walk in total Victory! Thank you, thank you, thank you for this Awesome site!
May God Bless!

@Doug Thanks for your comment. Since you're new to the blog, let me give you a little tour: If you click on the "Support" tab (http://procrastinatingwritersblog.com/support/), you'll be able to read all about the programs I'm affiliated with and how I make some money from this blog. Just so you know, I don't make very much money. It's barely enough to cover the cost of running this blog.

I only recommend products that I not only believe in, but that I have used myself. I didn't go out looking for affiliate programs. I stumbled across all the products I'm now affiliated with early in my writing career and found them to be invaluable resources. Each and every one of the products I advertise and recommend on my site I initially purchased with my own money, tried it out, used it in my career and to make my writing better, and then later on when I created this blog decided to become an affiliate.

Readers who have been with me for a long time know that I am always transparent and genuine in my recommendations. I only recommend products that actually work and that are awesome. I'm sure that anyone who has purchased something through one of my affiliate links will tell you that the product they purchased was worth every penny and more.

And for those readers who haven't been with me very long, welcome. I'm glad that you're here. Please know that I don't use affiliate links on here to be deceiving or to trick you into purchasing a product. I would recommend all the products on this site, regardless of whether I was making money from them or not.

If you ever have questions or concerns about anything I recommend on this site, please feel free to leave a comment in the box below the post and I will gladly clear up any confusion or answer your questions.

I work extremely hard on Procrastinating Writers, dedicating more than 20 hours a week to it, on top of going to school part-time and working full-time. So in my opinion, my time spent on this blog is worth making a couple bucks here and there from affiliate sales. I hope that you agree. (But if you don't, that's fine too.)

Thanks for reading!

You have some nice articles on this blog, but it's hard to sift through what comes from your heart and what is just sales copy trying to push all the products through your affiliate links. Since you are getting a cut by selling other people's books and courses, it taints your remarks, whether you truly believe in these products or not. You should be more upfront with your readers that you are getting a cut from all sales that link from your site.
